Ofterschwang : the perfect slope
Organizers have iced the World Cup slope in order to prepare for high temperatures and rain
Ofterschwang The organizers of the Alpine Ski World Cup race in Ofterschwang on the coming weekend have responded to the weather forecasts and iced the piste with so-called spray bars. In this process, highly pressurized water is sprayed onto the snow which in turn densifies and turns to ice.
As chemical means have traditionally been avoided in Ofterschwang, common “Pretzel” salt will presumably be used again this year as forecasts predict high temperatures and rain. “Although this means that our slope team will have quite a lot of work:the World Cup races are secure,” confirms OK Secretary General Stefan Huber.
In the meantime, the ticket sales have been “very good” according to Huber. For the Giant Slalom (Saturday) and Slalom (Sunday, 10.30 am and 1.30 pm respectively), sufficient remaining tickets are still available.
